RBRC 80th Street Rail Overpass Design Build
80th Street, east of the new South Fraser Perimeter Road Project, will provide a primary access road to the expanded Boundary Bay Airport. The project will feature an overpass structure with street lighting, a new traffic signal at 80th Street and Ladner Trunk Road along with Rail Automated Advanced Warning System to notify drivers on Ladner Trunk Road of an approaching train, enabling them to reroute to the new 80th Street Overpass.
DMD’s role included electrical design of roadway lighting, traffic signals and pre-ducting in bridge structures; design, set-up, testing and commissioning of the Rail Automated Advanced Warning System.

Evans Rd Design Build
The $30M+ project, was a partnership between the Ministry of Transportation and the City of Chilliwack. The project involved a upgrading an arterial including a new overpass and interchange over the Trans-Canada Highway as well as two smaller bridge structures.
DMD’s role included electrical design of roadway lighting, traffic signals, pumps stations, relocation of an existing changeable message sign, traffic counters, roundabout lighting and pre-ducting in bridge structures.

156th Street Design Build, Surrey
The $16.5M project, was a partnership between the Ministry of Transportation and the City of Surrey. The project involved an underpass running under Highway 1 at 156th Street and upgrades to 156th Street between 104th and 108th Avenue. The project was completed in the spring of 2009.
DMD’s role included the design of electrical lighting and signals, project coordination, relocation of fiber optic duct bank and electrical in cast in place bridge structure.

WR Bennett Floating Bridge Design-Build-Finance-Operate
This
$148M project located in Kelowna, British Columbia involves the replacement of an
existing 3 lane floating bridge with a new 5 lane - 1000m long floating bridge.
DMD's work includes the design a construction specifications for the power distribution, roadway lighting, an automatic incident detection system, a CCTV system, a seismic monitoring system, a weather monitoring station, back-up power via a standby diesel generator and uninteruptable power supplies (UPS), a vehicle counter and classification collection system to measure performance, a fibre optic network, navigational lighting, traffic signals and 3rd party utility conduit systems.
As the project is Design Build Finance Operate numerous life cycle cost analysis have been undertaken to define the best value over the 30 year concession period of the contract.

204th Street Design Build, Langley - Owners Engineer
The new $37M overpass was the first railway grade separation in the City of Langley that connects the north side of the city with the south. The 204th Street Overpass Project includes a four-lane, 420 meter long overpass structure that spans both the Langley By-Pass and CP Rail. The project is regarded by transportation authorities as an integral part of the regional transportation system. The project is funded by the Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority (TransLink), the City of Langley, the Province of BC and the Government of Canada. The work include electrical, signals an lighting.
DMD’s owners engineer role included preparation of bid specifications, review of designs and construction.
