This follow-up document to the Level I certification course is a focused on roadway lighting. The course was joint effort between PB Americas and DMD and Associates Ltd.

The Level I course was focused on safety, basic electricity, electrical code, basic equipment, basic construction and basic maintenance. This Level II course is focused towards the specific roadway lighting elements as follows:

• Safety and Qualifications
• Luminaire and Lamp Components
• Electrical, Poles and Highmast Lighting
• Basic Lighting Design Fundamentals
• Lighting Applications (ie; roadways, sidewalks, parking lots, toll booths, intersections, roundabouts, mid-block crosswalks, bridges and tunnels)
• Maintenance of Systems
• Reference Documents
• Testing, Investigations and Troubleshooting

The information in the Level II Course is intended to further ones knowledge and understanding of roadway lighting systems and service. The course should benefit those who administer, install, maintain, and operate roadway lighting systems.

Though not focused on design their is also some good information for those who design roadway lighting.

The first course will be offered at the IMSA annual conference on August 20/21, 2007 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Don McLean of DMD will conducting a one hour presentation on the Roadway Lighting Level II Certification Program on August 19th from 2:00PM to 3:00PM at the annual conference in Louisville.
